BIO
CURRENT:  I live, work and create in Ormond Beach / Daytona Beach, FL.

Fall 2018 Update: I’m gradually shifting my creative practice from traditional paint media to digital media and hybrid processes.  New personal projects include a series of laser etched watercolors channeling motifs associated with Geisha, Matryoshka, ship figureheads and sugar skulls.  I’m still developing the technical process, but so far the results are very promising! I'm also in the process of developing a collection of patterns / surface design motifs for fabrics and wallpaper.
GRAPHIC DESIGN and ILLUSTRATION: I'm available for freelance logo design, pictorial design and graphic spot illustration as well as fully rendered traditional media illustrations in watercolor, acrylic or mixed media.
FINE ART: My traditional media works have been exhibited regionally, nationally, and internationally, including the Butler Institute of American Art Midyear Exhibitions (1998, 2009) and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art Contemporary American Realism Biennials (2008, 2010, 2012.)  Permanent collections include the Fort Wayne Museum of Art – Fort Wayne, Indiana and the Columbus Metropolitan Library – Columbus, Ohio. Other works are are included in private collections throughout the US. To learn more about these works, please review my artists statement.
ACADEMIC CAREER | 1986 - 2016: Associate Professor – Columbus College of Art & Design – Columbus, Ohio.  While at CCAD, I developed and taught courses in painting, color theory, 2D design, graphic design, illustration and comprehensive visual literacy. During that time I also served as Assistant Curator – CCAD Canzani Gallery, Director of Student Exhibitions, Chair of Foundation Studies and Associate Director of CORE Studio.  I was the 2009 recipient of CCAD’s prestigious Award for Teaching Excellence.
After 30 years of classroom success and various academic leadership roles, I was invited to join CCAD’s admissions staff as a Regional Recruiter (2015-2016) dedicated to recruiting BFA / MFA students from the southeastern US. Visiting nearly 100 schools that year was a great way to learn my way around Florida!
I am now fully retired from teaching and working at CCAD.
